Generation:

“All of the people born and living at about the same time, regarded collectively,” We don’t think of this word as a military term. But its use goes way back. It certainly has military application. i.e., those eligible to fight and those too old or too young. Who has to register with the Selective Service Administration. In times of war we draft. This word is in twenty books of the Old Testament, and seven books in the new. A total of 210 uses. A recent back and forth interaction with a friend who sees the Big Picture differently than I do caused me to ponder some things. This word dropped into my spirit during that reflection. I was amazed at how often Jesus used it in addressing Israel at his first coming. Forteen times in just the book of Matthew alone. Many believers through the generations since Christ have thought they were the last generation he spoke of. Only a remnant (tenth) have “ears to hear and eyes to see” spiritually in each generation according to the Bible. In our day the common church view seems to be that things are or will get better. Few expect judgment. Scripture tells us Jesus preached judgment, not revival. Should those who follow in his foot steps be doing the same? The prosperity gospel doesn’t seem to encourage the fear of the LORD which is the beginning of wisdom. An army is always preparing for war, a form of judgment! Should it be that way in the LORD’s army too? Jesus said: “A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them and departed.” Matthew 16:4. He also said:“… O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him hither to me.” Matthew 17:17. Jesus didn’t just talk to the scribes and pharisees this way. Many serious believers think we are that last generation that will see him come again. I am looking for the rapture. I don’t want to be left behind to go through the final seven years of great tribulation if we are that generation. Mark 8:38 says: “Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh with the holy angels.” Great change is coming. Jesus told us so.

Guns:

What would be the state of a nation’s army, if it had no weapons to issue to its soldiers? That nation’s enemies would not have much respect for soldiers in such an impoverished army. So it is with our chief enemy, satan. He has no fear of most Christians because they have not armed themselves spiritually with the weapons God has provided (Eph 6:11-18). What do I mean? The average Christian has not one scriptural promise from the bible memorized. When such Christians are attacked they don’t have even one scripturall promisee they can pull out and stand on until deliverance comes from the LORD. The bible calls scripture, the sword of the spirit. Hebrews 4:12 calls the word of God our two edged sword. The bible is where we find out about our spiritual weapons. Most Christians have no understanding of how to weald such weapons. They are therefore virtually defenseless against satan’s attacks. Likewise they have no real spiritual authority because they don’t have any real understanding of who they serve or the power of His Name in scattering demonic forces (Deut 9:3, 1 John 4:4, Revelation 12:11). They don’t seem to know that satan and his demons must bow any holy declaration (Is 45:11, Job 22:28) made in the powerful Name of Jesus, Philippians 2:10.

The biggest oppressor of people throughout history has been their own government. That is why our Constitution has built into it “the right of the people to bear arms.” That is why satan through the liberal establishment in this country is working so feverishly to rid this nation of guns. Since the majority of people always are conservative the only way the “left” can bring in their dictatorship to control us adn reduce the population of the earth is by doing away with the right to bear arms in America. I believe that is one reason this country has gone to an all volunteer army. If every citizen when turning eighteen doesn’t have to do a period of army service than fewer will learn how to shoot and use a military weapon . Veterans are feared by the left and that is why thought most of us are respectful, honest, hardworking citizens the “left” through media and the universities work hard to smear the reputation of all who have served in the armed forces. Where the right to bear arms is seen as important in those counties of these United States have the safest climate and the criminals are kept in check and the police aren’t over bearing. Fight to keep this right. Be suspicious of all who are of the opinion that “guns kill.” In Luke 22 the bible says that a household should have a weapon to defend it and the greatest prophet of the Old Testament, John, never criticized the profession of soldiering, nor did Christ.
